Violet Lorraine Rowe, age 93, of Essex, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Violet was born March 3, 1928, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Burl and Anna (White) Brown. She was raised and attended school in Bedford, Iowa. Violet was united in marriage to Everett Rowe and two children were born to this union: Barbara and Dwayne. They lived in Essex for many years and then Violet lived in Shenandoah before moving to Red Oak. Currently, she was living with her son, Dwayne, near Essex, Iowa. Violet worked for Eveready Battery for many years where she retired. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene and was quite active in church activities. Violet enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, doing crafts, crocheting, making dolls, and reading. She also loved all animals.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Everett; sisters: Hazel Lewis and Lillian Freuck; and nephew: Larry Brown. Survivors include her daughter: Barbara Allocco and husband Lenny of Omaha, NE; son: Dwayne Rowe and significant other Karen Tift of Essex, IA; grandchildren: David Allocco and significant other Jen Seidler of Omaha, NE; and Juanita Allocco and significant other Shawn Cullinane of Omaha, NE; step-grandchildren: Joshua Vanderpool of Dunbar, IA and Jami Kussman of Cozad, NE; great grandchildren: Flynn, Quinn, and Rory Allocco and Lily and Josie Cullinane; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Burial will be in the Essex, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family.
