Dick was born on November 26, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to Arthur and Irene (Brown) Vercruysse. He graduated from Bennington High School in 1964 and Doane College in 1968.

He joined the US Navy upon graduation, becoming a pilot and flight instructor.

After his discharge he began a career in the flour milling industry, managing mills in Omaha, Minneapolis, Grand Forks, Kansas City and Hudson, New York before moving back to Nebraska to farm with his dad.

On the farm north of Blair he revived his love of horseback riding, raising longhorns and affinity for classic cars.

Richard A. (Dick) Vercruysse age 75 of Blair passed away October 23, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Myrna; his children: Elizabeth, Todd, Dan, and Andrea; his stepchildren: Tom, Tammi, Herta and Tanya; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister Bonnie (Jim) Vandenberg; nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to Doane University in Crete, NE.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 28th at 10:30AM at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside service will follow at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 27th from 5:00 to 8:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.
