Amelia (Emily) Perez, 90, peacefully passed away from Alzheimer's on October 25, 2021, at her daughter Debbie's home in Lathrop California. She was surrounded by many loved ones physically and virtually . Emily was born on January 9, 1931 in Phoenix Arizona to Rosario and Guadalupe Fernandez. She graduated from high school in 1949 and moved to live with her father in Oakland California in 1950. She began her professional career as a secretary. As time passed she decided she wanted more challenging work and got a job with BART as a station agent. She worked there for 23 year up until her retirement. In her retirement she loved spending time shopping all the sales and picking out cute outfits for herself and her family. Emily was always cracking jokes and had a big smile to offer everyone she met. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Visiting with babies brought light to her eyes and they took to her gentle touch immediately. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and enjoyed making porcelain dolls for everyone in the family. One of her favorite quotes was " See you in the funny papers" to which the reply would be " Not if I don't see you first."

She is survived by her children Deborah & David (Imig), Olga, Laura, Cindy & Frank(Gomez), Mark & Nannette and Monique. She was a cherished sister to Sammy & Mary Lou, Danny & Pam and Albert & Susie. Doting grandmother to her nine grandchildren Lorette & Steven,Marcel & Eric, Olguita & Arash, Andrea & Greg, Jeannette, Mia, Aliyah, Alyssa and Sebastian. She was also blessed to have seven great grandchildren Ethan, Zoe, Elijah, Max Emilio, Kian, Ezaiah and Harper. She is also survived by her special friend Marie Raynar, her eternally beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association. The families of Deborah & David Imig and Cindy & Frank Gomez wish to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Abdul Kahn, Stacey Dukes, Erata Mendoza, Angie, Pastor Ed Applegae and to our officiant Rev. Dr. Gerald R. Mann.
Thank you to all who have shown support and love during these difficult times.
