She was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Elmer Joe and Sally Frances (Engleman) Ong. She grew up here and had lived in McAlester and High Hill all her life. She married William C. Camp, Jr. on Oct. 27, 1942, in Jack Fork. She was a longtime member of the High Hill Baptist Church where she was in charge of the nursery for more than 40 years. She also worked at the Otasco store in Hartshorne for more than 16 years. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, but her real joy in life was her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking for all of them. Mary passed away at the age of 82 at her home in High Hill. Survivors include her husband, William C. Camp Jr. of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Sharon Camp, of Canadian, Bob and Linda J. Camp, of McAlester, Ed and Linda R. Camp, of McAlester, and Jim and Brenda Camp, of McAlester. Also, seven grandchildren, Bobby L. Camp and his wife, Lisa, of High Hill, Jimmy Camp, of High Hill, William Bradley Camp and his wife, Gale, of Hartshorne, Eddy Joe Camp and his wife, Melinda, of High Hill, Eddy Michael Camp and his wife, Denise, of Hartshorne, Mary L. Ketcher and her husband, Bobby, of Wilburton, and Harley Joe Camp, of High Hill. And, 12 great-grandchildren, Cody Wayne Camp, Malory Camp, Brett Camp, Cheyenne Camp, Brenna Camp, Dillon Camp, Michelle Cook, Madeline Camp, Kelli Earley, Weston Camp, Shawn Michael Camp, and Sophia Camp; one great-great-grandchild, Carmen J. Earley. And, one sister, Reba Magnera, Seal Beach, Calif.; brother-in-law, Gene Ellis, of McAlester; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ong, Stinnett, Texas, and Mary Hunter, Houston; former daughter-in-law, Janice Camp, of Hartshorne, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joyce Ellis, and three brothers, Elmer J. Ong, Bill Ong and L. J. Ong. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at High Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial will be at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
