CANSLER, Paul Reed – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Cranberry Park Assisted Living in Clio, MI. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Jason Crum officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, 10 AM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-12 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church.

Paul was born in Monroe County, Tennessee on September 25, 1937, son of the late Stanley Kittrell and Charles and Edith (Turpin) Cansler. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. Paul married Patricia Sue Dixon on September 29, 1956 in Tennessee and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2021. Paul retired from General Motors on December 1, 1998 after 41 years of service. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with his son, Steve and friend, John Taylor. Paul also enjoyed painting cars with his son, Rick. He loved spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by 3 children, Donna (Larry) Martin, Rick (Cheri) Cansler and Steven Cansler; 6 grandchildren, Eric, Chad (Kirsten), Aaron, Kasey, Alex and Alyssa; 2 great-grandchildren, Caiden and Tessa; 3 sisters, Sherry Miller, Brenda (Dean) Williams and Bobbie Dotson; 2 brothers, Terry (Laura) Cansler and Gary Cansler; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Kittrell; stepfather, Charles Cansler; mother, Edith Cansler; wife, Patricia Sue Cansler; grandson, Jason Cansler (Rick's son); 2 siblings, Ronnie Cansler and Margaret Kittrell.
