~OBITUARY OF CARL D. MARSHALL

Carl D. MARSHALL, 65, of Hooker, Oklahoma, died Friday, December 07, 2007, at his home.

Carl, the oldest of five to William D. and Jewell Lila Halcomb MARSHALL of Enid, Oklahoma, he was born in Bowler, Oklahoma.

Carl was named to the All State Football Team in 1959 playing for Atoka High School and then joined the U. S. Army. He served two tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970.

On April 05, 1964 in Hooker, Oklahoma, Carl was united in marriage to Edna Mary CARROLL. After his military service he returned to Hooker, Oklahoma, and made it home with his wife Edna and his two children.

His first employment was with the Hooker Lumber Company until he began working for Adams Elementary School. He drove school bus and was janitor. He had several jobs in the oil field around Enid, Oklahoma, until he was hired by the City of Hooker and later began working for the United Postal Service and ran his mail route around Hooker.

He was president of the Hooker American Legion Post. He loved his country and was a proud American. He coached Little League baseball and football and umpired several games.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna on November 03, 2007; his parents, a sister, Sharlene LANGWELL and two brothers, Dean MARSHALL and Larry (Peanut) MARSHALL.

Survivors include his daughter, Carla Marshall CROW and son-in-law John CROW of Hooker, Oklahoma; son, Allen MARSHALL and his wife Kimberly of Guymon; grandson, Jay Cee CROW of Hooker, Oklahoma, and granddaughter, Ashley Jewell MARSHALL of the U. S. Navy; his sister, Raylene LONG and her husband Fred of Westville, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma, with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
