William Jacob Bare, known as Jacob, was the son of Owen Christian Bare (1782-1865) and Catherine Pierce (1790-1864).
He first married Nancy Copple (1810-1837) in Washington County, Indiana on December 17 1830. Jacob and Nancy had: Joshua, Elizabeth Ann and Nancy.
After Nancy's death, Jacob remarried and had three more children: Harriet Jane, Jacob, Henry and Owen.
Where he married and whom he married remains a mystery.
At the age of 40, Jacob married nineteen year-old Elizabeth Williams in Jefferson County, Illinois on January 19, 1850. Jacob and Elizabeth had three children: Mary, John and Anderson.
After the death of Elizabeth, Jacob moved to Green County, Arkansas where he passed away in February 1877.
