From The Herald (Everett, WA)
Oct. 17 to Oct. 18, 2021:

Barbara Alta Davis-Norgaard, age 94 of Brookings, Oregon, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021.
She was born December 10, 1926, in Chiwaukum, Washington to Robert William and Alta Velma (Barnett) Nelson.

She grew up in both Leavenworth and Seattle but spent most of her life farming in Stanwood and Mount Vernon, all in Washington. The last 5 years of her life was spent with her son Mark, and Ronnie in Brookings Oregon, spending time living on both the Chetco river and the Oregon coast, surrounded by an abundance of flowers, wildlife, and love.

Barbara loved fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden, canning, cooking, and baking, joyously sharing with others. She also loved music and playing the piano, which included playing the piano in churches. Above all she loved reading the Holy Bible and placed it in her heart, actually living by its principles. She was a beacon of strength, and love, and had compassion for everyone regardless of their affiliations or their past. She believed whole-heartedly in being kind to all and bringing peace to the world through each and every thought and action she did in her entire life.

Barbara is survived by her son Mark Davis and Ronnie Slimmer of Brookings Oregon and daughter Lorraine and Rick Casteel of Concrete Washington; surviving grandchildren include Jesse Clark, Keith Clark, and Christopher Casteel of Concrete, Washington, and Michael Clark of Cle Elum, Washington, along with 4 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Robert Clinton Davis and Richard Smith Norgaard, and sons Clinton William Davis, and Nolan Lee Davis.

A time of visitation will be available from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley Washington. A procession will follow to a Graveside Service at 1:30 PM at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley; Pastor Jim Cannon presiding.
