PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Victor Canada, 99, of Varney, formerly of the Williamson, W. Va., area, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994, in Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1895, at Hatfield, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Canada and Dixie Smith Robinette Canada; wife, Sulia Caines Canada; six children, two half sisters, two half brothers and two grandchildren.
He was a retired coal miner and railroad worker.
Survivors: sons, Wade Canada of Ragland, W. Va., Ernest Canada of Canada and Landon Canada of Varney; daughters, Mattie Casmer of Charleston, W. Va., Dixie Liebee of Warner, Ohio, and Winnie Sellards of Turkey Creek; half brother, Charlie Chapman of Pikeville; 47 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994, in the Hatfield Funeral Chapel, Toler, with Elder Richard Staton officiating.
Burial: Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation: After 6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home, with a service Friday at 7 p.m. officiated by the Rev. John George Blackburn.
