Alfred Quinton Smith was the son of Ella Evans and Frederick Clapman Smith, Sr.
Alfred married Jan Robinson on December 25, 1917 in Atlanta, Georgia. To this union two sons were born, Alfred Quinton Smith, Jr. (1920-1944) and Jan Robinson Smith (1926-2013).
Mr. Smith a native of Atlanta was retired president of the old Smith & Pew Construction Company in Atlanta. He was previously associated with a Detroit contracting firm for several years following graduation from Georgia Tech in 1912.
Mr. Smith was a communicant of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and a member of several engineer organizations.
