Willie was born January 22, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hyrum Rufus and Ivie Lerea (Morriss) Moulton.
Willie graduated from Granite High School in 1949.
Willie served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the Cruiser USS Saint Paul.
Willie married Delores Miriam Johnson, March 2, 1954 in Elko, NV. They were married for 63 years until she passed away in June 2017.
Willie joined the Salt Lake City Police Department on December 10, 1956. He retired from the police force after 29 years of service on September 30, 1985. Later he went on to work as a Water Master for Salt Lake City Public Utilities for several years.
Willie enjoyed oil painting, rockhounding, fishing, tying his own flies, canoeing, hunting, traveling to numerous Navy reunions, watching Lawrence Welk reruns, playing his banjo and especially relaxing on his front porch as he smoked his pipe or cigar and sipped a glass of red wine.
Willie is survived by his four children: Randy (Martina) Moulton, Bryan (Mary) Moulton, Jeff (Janet) Moulton, Brenda (Mark) Veldevere; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and his younger brother Ronald Moulton and younger sister Carole Burnett and his favorite Aunt Donna (Moulton) Dayton.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, his wife, his older brother, Hyrum Rufus Moulton Jr; and numerous other family members and friends.
Special thanks to his granddaughter, Michelle (Moulton) St John, who took him out to lunch every Sunday to his favorite restaurants.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Summit Senior Living Center and to Canyon Home Care & Hospice, particularly his nurses: Jessica, Renee, and Dane; his physical therapist: Afshin; his CNA's: Misty, Francisco, Amelia, Annette, Millie, Kalisz, Linda and his granddaughter Amie Moulton for their kindness and expert care in his last days.
There will be a viewing Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 10:00-10:45am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am.
