Leo Robert "Bob" Burke of Caremont, NH died on October 25, 2004 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born in Newport, NH on January 31, 1925 the son of Henry and Lura (Roberts) Burke and had resided in Claremont most of his life.

He attended schools in Newport and was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy on the USS Stembel.

Bob retired due to disability in 1973 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Windsor, VT where he worked as a fork lift operator for thirty-one years.

He loved making wooden animals, talking on the "CB" radio where he was known as "Bucklure", also enjoyed hunting and feeding the birds and animals.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Madeja) Burke of Claremont whom he married on May 31, 1952 in St Joseph Church; one son, Robert Burke and his wife, Jennifer of Claremont; one daughter, Jane Hamilton and her husband Mark of Fayetteville, GA; four grandchildren, Erica, Stephanie and Spencer Burke and Rieley Hamilton; one brother, Norbert Burke and his wife, Fay of Newport; four nephews and one niece.

He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Walter Burke, Henry Burke and William
Burke.

Interment with full military honors provided by the Newport American Legion will be in St Mary Cemetery in Claremont.
