Nathan P. Doty, age 83, of Braintree, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, died peacefully, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Sunrise of Braintree, surrounded by his loving family. Nathan was born in Swampscott on May 23, 1933 to the late Lawrence and Caroline (Gove) Doty. He was a graduate of Milton Academy and Dartmouth College, Class of 1955. He later earned his certified public accounting degree from Boston University. He had lived in Braintree for three years, previously living in Las Vegas for twenty-two years. As a certified public accountant, Nathan was employed for over twenty years with the Lydia Pinkham Clinic in Salem and previously worked many years for the former Howard Johnson Company in their Braintree headquarters. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the late 1950s. Nathan was a horse and dog racing enthusiast. Beloved husband for thirty-eight years of Carole A. (Flood) Doty and former husband of the late Marilyn (Bowers) Doty. Devoted father of two and step-father of three. Loving grandfather of nine grandchildren. One of three siblings, Nathan was pre-deceased by Lawrence Doty and Douglas Doty and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
