A past queen of Bath Zabbia Temple, Daughter of the Nile, Mrs. Baltrusch also was a member of Eastern Star, White Shrine, NARFE and Billings Women's Club. She worked 24 years with Works Progress Administration, Civilian Conservation Service and Bureau of Indian Affairs, and 22 years with Bureau of Land Management.
Born in Bloomington, Neb., a daughter of James and Ella Sheppard, she was married in 1914 in Billings. From 1915 to 1918, she helped her mother and sister "prove up" their homestead in Stillwater County. After attending school in Bridger and Billings Polytechnic Institute, she worked as a stenographer for The Billings Gazette from 1921 to 1925, taught in W. A. Johnson School of Business, was co-owner, manager and teacher at Cheyenne (Wyo.) Business College.
Her husband died Jan. 25, 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty B. Baltrusch of 1236 N. 31st St.; a son, Dr. Oscar W. Baltrusch of 2117 Fairway Drive; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Smith Downtown Shapel with burial in Terrace Gardens Memorial Estates.
