Glynn Garwood Allen, of Duncan, OK, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was 87.

Born July 30, 1934 in Elk City, OK to Clifford and Edna (Henry) Allen, Glynn grew up in Highway, OK and graduated from Highway school in 1952. Glynn attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. After attending college Glynn moved to Sacramento, CA becoming a Sacramento policeman where he served with distinction for 28 years, whereby Glynn was a Sargent of the Motorcycle Division when he retired, whereafter he returned to Oklahoma. Glynn is a Veteran of the U.S. Army having proudly served his country for two years after graduating from high school at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

Glynn loved his Lord, Myra, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Glynn also loved the outdoors being a passionate fisherman and hunter, gospel music and was prolific breeder of homing pigeons and successful racer as well. Glynn was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan, OK.

Glynn is survived by his wife, Myra; his brother, Brad Allen of Duncan; four children – Laurie Bush of Sacramento, CA, Tracey Dawkins of Chesnee, South Carolina, Jerry Howell of Duncan, OK and Tracy Howell of Tulsa, OK; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, October 15, from 5pm to 7pm at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, at 1pm at Whitt Funeral Home with Brad Allen and Randy Southerland officiating with a graveside service at Marlow Cemetery immediately thereafter. Pallbearers will be Mark Crutcher, Dick Fennel, Zac Howell, Cody Cook, Ashley Howell and Randy Allen.
