Mr. James Edward Ayers, Sr. passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at Scotland Memorial Hospital after an illness. He was 77 years old.
Jimmy was born in Kingstree, SC on September 24, 1944, to the late James Burton and Annie O'Tuel Ayers. He was the former building inspector for the City of Bennettsville. He enjoyed fishing, playing softball, his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; son, James Edward Ayers, Jr.; daughter, Kim Neal (Clay); brother, Gerald Ayers (Linda); sister, Margaret Thompson (Jimmy); sister-in-law, Roberta Ayers; grandchildren; Asa Neal and Ethan Neal.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; wife, Elizabeth P. Ayers; brother, David Ayers.
A graveside funeral service will be held 3pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Park in Bennettsville. A visitation will take place immediately following the service at 400 Williams Drive, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
