He was the much beloved husband of Martha McNally Rowe for 36 years; father of Michelle Walters and her husband Kevin of Maryville, TN; grandfather of three; brother of Walter Shaffer of Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law of Liz Shaffer of Binghamton, NY; and brother-in-law of Ruth and Floyd Smallwood of Hubert, NC.
Mr. Rowe was a 1964 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School; his mother, the late Mrs. Mary Rowe, had taught in the Conemaugh elementary school in the 1960s. He was a 1966 graduate of Allegheny Tech and worked for Westinghouse, Linthicum, MD as a radar technician for 39 years, retiring in 2005. He also held an Associates' degree from Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland. Mr. Rowe was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a fireman and gunner on the destroyer USS Meredith from 1968-70. He was a Linthicum resident for 40 years and member of the Halethorpe Community Church in Arbutus, MD for 37 years.
A memorial service was held at the church with burial in his family's plot in Addison, PA. Donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or the Gideons International.
