Tressie Mae Shoemaker Hart, 76, of 915 Roy Road, Troutville, Va., and formerly of McComas, died on Friday, December 7, 2007 at a Roanoke, Va., hospital.

Born on May 7, 1931 in White Top, Va., she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mattie Wyatt Blevins. She had been a resident of Troutville for 20 years and was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F. Hart; four brothers, Will, Clarence, Frank, and Ernest Blevins; and three sisters, Ressie Richardson, Ola Trivett, and Norma Jean O'Bryan.

Survivors include: one son: Mike Shoemaker and wife Elaine of Statesville, N.C.; one daughter: Drema French and husband Kermit of Ceres; two grandchildren: Wayne Tooley of Statesville, N.C., Pat Adkins and husband Harold of Statesville, N.C.; two great-grandchildren: Travis & Brittany Jones of McComas; two sisters: Blanche Finley of Aberdeen, Md., Edith Tolliver of Darlington, Md.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton with Ernest Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
