Funeral services honoring and celebrating the life of Mr. Floyd Scroggins will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Bro. Mike Loveday officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at the Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Homes.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14th, at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Mr. Floyd Earl Scroggins was born June 15, 1947 at Bastrop, Louisiana to the late Julis Robert Scroggins and Cora Waite Scroggins. Mr. Scroggins passed away October 12, 2021 at his home in the Beekman Community of Morehouse Parish. Along with his parents, Mr. Scroggins is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Griffis Scroggins; three brothers, Robert Martin Scroggins, Howard Scroggins, and James Scroggins; and two sisters, Myrtle Lee Carter and Hixie Sue Bounds.

Mr. Scroggins was a jack of all trades. He was a heavy equipment mechanic, millwright, and a heavy equipment operator. He was a devoted husband and a beloved father and grandfather. Although he was a quiet and private man, many people were fortunate to have known him.

Mr. Scroggins is survived by his three sons, Floyd Michael Scroggins and his wife, Dawn, Thomas Earl Scroggins and his wife, Joy, and Robert Calvin "Bo" Scroggins and his wife, Cindy. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cody Michael Scroggins and Marissa Joy Scroggins; two great-grandchildren, Waylon Thomas Scroggins and Ada Clair Stewart; and three sisters, Deloris Irene May, Ada Beatrice Neely, and Bertha Lou Fortune.

Serving as Mr. Scroggins pallbearers are Kyle Griffis, Johnathan Stewart, Alan Gardner, Keith Gardner, Carl Scroggins, and Ronald Scroggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Wilkerson and Ray Wallace.
