Barry T. Carmichael, age 60 of Palmyra, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 12, 2007.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Barry was a lifelong resident of Palmyra. A loyal and generous son, father, brother, and friend, Barry was an avid reader, collector of all kinds of music and possessed the eclectic intelligence of a true
Renaissance Man.
Barry was a staff sergeant, US Army, 5th Special Forces Groud, Airborne. He served as a Spanish translator while stationed in Panama and was awarded the Bronze Star while in Vietnam. Barry was employed by Auto Trim and Detail Distributors and Advanced Chemical, LLC for over thirty years as a purchasing manager as well as serving as the secretary of the corporation.
Barry is survived by his daughter, Heidi Rexford and grandson Grady of Lakeland, FL; his father, Thomas Carmichael of Palmyra; brother, Terry of Littleton, CO; two sisters, Sherry Crouse of Plattsburgh, NY and Debra Dawson of Denver, CO; six nephews and five nieces. Predeceased by his mother, Vivian Carmichael; a sister, Donna Richards and a brother, Randy.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Sunday from 7 to 9 PM at the WEBER FUNERAL HOME, 112 Broad Street (River Road), Riverton, NJ and to attend his funeral service Monday, 11:00 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church, 5th St. and Morgan Ave., Palmyra, NJ. Inurnment: Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Audubon Society or the South Jersey Alzheimer's Chapter, 3 Eves Way, Marlton, NJ 08053.
