Antoinette V. Couzens, age 78, a resident of Leonard since 1980 and previously from Shelby Township, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at her home. Antoinette was born April 17, 1942 in Detroit, the daughter of Anthony & Janice (Sobon) Poole. She married Mervyn Couzens in 1968 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Roseville, Michigan. After graduating from South Macomb College with an Associate Degree in Business, Antoinette worked for 10 years as a secretary at GM Tech Center in Warren, then for 14 years for Ford at the Romeo Engine Plant as an auditor. After retirement, she had more time to enjoy taking cruises (Last count upwards of 20), going to casinos, and traveling to Florida. Antoinette is survived by her husband Mervyn, sons: Eric of Leonard and Brian (Steven) of Florida. Also survived by siblings: Shirley (Peter) Sekela of Shelby Township and Janice Hartman of Mt Clemens. She was preceded in death by sister Grace Carvelli. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo (343 S. Main, Romeo Michigan 48065) with burial to follow at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce Township, Michigan. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to charities of your choice would be appreciated.
