His death certificate provided no additional information other than his estimated age of 55 and that he died of heart troubles.

He's presumably the Julius Austen who was the father, and informant on the death certificate, of Willie Austen in Pruden, Bell County, Kentucky. Willie was born on April 29, 1918 in Tennessee. Pruden was located right on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee and Julius referred to their residence as being in Tennessee., presumably meaning on the Tennessee side of Pruden. Willie, who died at age 3 of pneumonia on June 15, 1922, was buried in Pruden. The record stated that both Julius himself and Willie's mother, Hattie nee Kennedy, were born in North Carolina. The couple and their son were included in the 1920 Campbell County, Tennessee census, where Julius was described as age 64, a coal miner, and she was described as age 41.
