Lois Eleanor Flodine, 97 years of age, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Stamford, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at The Heritage at Sterling Ridge in Omaha. Lois was born on January 5, 1924, at a farm south east of Stamford, the oldest child of John and Alice (Delimont) Sporing. Lois attended school at Sappa Peak, District 54 and graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1941. She attended Kearney State Teachers College and graduated with a Bachelor's in Education in 1945.

Following her graduation, she taught English, Social Studies, and Dramatics at Orleans High School briefly before marrying Lloyd Flodine on February 15, 1946, at Phillipsburg, Kansas. This union was blessed with three sons. She resided on a farm southwest of Stamford with her family until 1975, when she moved to a home east of Stamford.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active there as Parish Education director, teaching Sunday school and Bible School; and in later years, she enjoyed quilting at the church. Lois served on the Stamford School Board 1966 -1969 and worked as secretary from 1971 until the school closed in 1978.

She enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing. She loved decorative stitching, making Christmas stockings and quilts, for each of the children's family members.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; two sons: David T. Flodine and L. Randall Flodine; and her sister, Mary Butler and her husband, Walter.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her son: James Flodine and his wife, Mary of Omaha; two daughters-in-law: Nancy Flodine of Kingsville, TX; and Patricia Flodine of Kearney, NE; seven grandchildren: Shannon and Richard Milenkovich of Elkhorn, Nebraska; Brett and Jairren Flodine of Elkhorn; Travis and Anne Flodine of Omaha; Jessica Flodine of Kingsville; John Flodine of Kingsville; Christopher Flodine of Holdrege, NE; and Brooke Flodine of Holdrege; eight great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
