Eleanore "Nellie" Perry was born on the 16th of January 1792 in Augusta County, Virginia to John Daniel Perry and Elizabeth Nickell. The family moved from Virginia to Kentucky after the birth of Eleanor's sister Jane.

Eleanore married Francis Hopkins Lewis on 1 Aug 1811 in Floyd County, Ky. After her death in 1826, Francis married for a second time to Eleander "Ellen" Caskey (also a realitive of mine). He is buried next to her. Eleander is not Eleanore and I have proof of that.

Burial information for Eleanore is not known. Her and Francis had 5 children together before she died in 1826, it is possible she was buried on the property they were living at at the time of her death and there are some land records that show she was in Morgan county at the time of her death. Family history has been passed down to me that it's possible she died in childbirth but I cannot find information to support this.

Built this memorial to ensure the difference between Eleanore Jane Perry Lewis and Eleander "Ellen" Caskey Lewis. They are two seperate people. Please do not merge this with Eleander's because it is not her. This is Francis Lewis's first wife.
