Two Rivers - Doris Jean Wier, age 89, resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully early Thursday morning, October 7, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born in Two Rivers February 12, 1932 to Adolph and Helen (Rabitz) Zellner. She attended St. Luke's Grade School and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1950. On June 27, 1953, she married Richard J. Wier at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with four daughters and sixty-eight years of marriage. Doris worked for Mirro Aluminum for several years, and later worked in the food service areas of Roncalli High School and Riverview School in Manitowoc. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, and forever cherished the time with family: her husband, children, grandchildren, and precious great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; three daughters & sons-in-law: Susan (Richard) Barrett of Rothchild, Linda (Jeff) Wolfert of Sheboygan, Mary Lee (Tim) Smith of Two Rivers; eight grandchildren: Jessica Barrett (fiance, Greg), Tara (Givan) Mack, Alicia (Eric) Koshalek, Scott Wolfert (partner, Sam), Melissa (Jake) Obbink, Spencer Smith, Dexter (Mackenzie) Smith, Trevor Smith; and four great-grandchildren: Hayden and Landon Obbink, Payton Koshalek, and Jaxton Smith. She is further survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law: John (Erleen) Zellner of DePere, Robert (Carolyn) Zellner of Waunakee; two sisters-in-law: Sally Zellner of Casper, Wyoming, and Diane Maedke of Manitowoc; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Helen Zellner; a special daughter, Connie Wier; brother, Adolph "Ox" Zellner, Jr.; two brothers-in-law: Norman (Janie) Wier and Bob Maedke; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Alois and Barbara Wier; and a special aunt, Marcella Drab.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. David J. Pleier, with burial of her cremated remains in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Friday from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.
