KINCHELOE, Hazel Karen Hazel Karen Kincheloe, 83, died in her home in Allen, Texas on October 4th, 2021. At her request, no service will be held for her. Karen was born on December 29th, 1937 on the USS Empress of Japan three days outside of Honolulu, Hawaii to Hazel and Sgt. Charles Kincheloe. Karen's life was filled with living as a child traveling to Japan and many other places as the daughter of a career military father. He finally ended his military career at Ardmore Air Force Base in Ardmore, Oklahoma where Karen attended Ardmore High School. Karen went on to attend the University of Texas in Austin where she received a degree in Journalism. After graduation, she got a job in Journalism in New York City for several years and later teaching at high schools in Las Vegas, Nevada and Houston, Texas. She loved teaching and got her graduate degree in Education from Northern Arizona University. She went on to teach at the University of Houston and Lone Star College. She taught Geography, Journalism, and other courses including English there. She loved to travel, especially to England where she had a flat and many friends! Her passport had more than 50 countries stamped in it! She loved travelling with her college roommates and many other friends over the years. The biggest passion in Karen's life was her animals, especially her cats. She fostered many cats for the Frisco Humane Society over the last 13 years. She dedicated the last part of her life being an advocate for cats. She had several of her own who are now living the rest of their lives at Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. She gave unconditionally to many animal organizations yearly like Best Friends to help as many cats as she could. Karen had no relatives so her friends became her family. She has had many close friends for decades. All of them will miss her kind heart and warm laugh. She was one of the kindest, giving people on Earth.
