THURMAN, Ohio — Alice V. Sprouse, 94, of Thurman, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Holzer Senior Care in Gallipolis.

She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Pt. Pleasant, W.Va., the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Riffle Carpenter.

Alice was a homemaker, a member of Whitesville Baptist Church, attended the Centerville Methodist Church, Centerville United Methodist Women, past member of the Rebecca's, member of Royal Oak Camp Ground, former EMT and Cub Scout leader.

Alice was married to Calvin Sprouse, who preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2011. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Calvin "Andy" Sprouse and Frankie Sprouse; daughter Betty Jane Pence; five brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann (Hobart) Daniels, and a son Randy (Debbie) Sprouse, both of Centerville; six grandchildren, Troy Daniels, Pam King, Toni Althouse, Michelle Miller, Randy A. Sprouse and Tabatha Jones; 13 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Adamsville Cemetery in Mason, W.Va., with Pastor John Rozewicz officiating.
