John P. Honaker, 59, an accountant for Standard Oil company here for more than 27 years, died at a local hospital at 7:30 p.m. yesterday. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Katherine Thorp Honaker, two sons, W. T. Honaker of Shreveport and Lt. John P. Honaker of the Keesler Air Force base; one brother, S. A. Honaker of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Miss Laura Honaker, Mrs. T. B. Langford, Mrs. John Thorp, and Miss Estelle Honaker, all of Shreveport, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Osborn chapel Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Harry Wintermeyer of St. Mark's Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. K. Anderson, John Marshall, W. T. Brownlow, F. H. McClanahan, R. M. Murphy, and D. J. Billeiter. Honaker was horn in Abingdon, Va., and came to Louisiana in 1908. He attended Culver military academy, Centenary college, and Poughkeepsie Business college. He was a member of the First Methodist church.
