Son of Jasper Newton Bailey and Martha Dibrell, grandson of Anthony Dibrell and Milly Carter. His paternal uncle was Daniel H Bailey, who is also buried in this place. His siblings were William Montgomery Bailey (1954-1929) and Millie Bailey Britton (1858-1896).

Deaths of a Day
Mr. Charles A Bailey of this city died yesterday at Bon Air, where he had gone recently for the benefit of his health. He was the son-in-law of Dr. J H Criddle and nephew of Mr. D H Bailey, and for several years had filled the position of bookkeeper at the Model Mills, resigning some time ago on account of his ill health. Mr. Bailey was well known and highly esteemed, and the intelligence of his death was received with deep regret. The remains of Mr. Bailey arrived in the city at 10:55 o'clock this afternoon. The funeral services will be held at McKendree Church, conducted by Rev. D C Kelley, D.D., and the interment will take place at Mt. Olivet. Mr. Bailey was a member of Joel A Battle Lodge, Knights of Pythias.
