Service for Vernice C. Nelson, 70, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson died Friday.

She was born in Wapato, Washington.

She moved to Spokane in 1950 from Yakima. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Nelson; her mother, Maude Emory of Yakima; one son, Gary Adams; one daughter, Linda Johnson, both of Spokane; one sister, Vina Zschomler of Yakima; one stepdaughter, Judy Hensley; three stepsons, Gerald, Douglas and Dale Nelson; five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
