Ashley Elizabeth Garrett
May 26, 1993 – October 2, 2021

On October 2, 2021 God called home his precious daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Garrett, known to all as Beth. Like her Papaw Ray, Beth Garrett never knew a stranger. She was bold, beautiful, sensitive, kind, funny (actually, hilarious), loyal, generous, creative, strong and charismatic. Her love of people knew no bounds nor did her drive to make them laugh. Everywhere she went she ran into someone she knew and encouraged them, shared a story with them, caught them up on the latest news or just hugged them. There was nothing like a "Bethie hug".
Beth loved roller coasters, George Strait, creepin' (on anyone), cruising around with her cousins, teasing her Aunt Deb, ugly Christmas sweaters and the Black Walnut Festival.
But more than all of those things, Beth loved her family – fiercely. She was an incredible sister, daughter, cousin, niece, granddaughter and, most importantly, Aunt. She loved being an aunt more than anything in the world. It is impossible to explain what Maximus and Scarlett Tanner meant to Aunt Bethie – it was something you could only understand if you saw it. It was beautiful.
Beth's love of family extended beyond blood and into the world around her. Beth's "family" rippled in circles and circles out from her center. She will be missed by so many because she touched so many. Her short life is a testament to the power in each of us to make a difference to others.
Beth is survived by her mother Billie Garrett, Sister Paige Garrett Tanner, brother-in-law Nathan Tanner, father Doug Garrett and his fiancée Meg Manley, grandparents Erma Lou Garrett, Wanda and Donnie Layman and Harold and Carolyn Hoskins. She was preceded in death by Papaw Ray Garrett, Uncle Allen Garrett and her brother Cory Matthew Garrett.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 8, 2021with Pastor Randy Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Gandee Chapel/Ward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
