s/o James (of Ireland) and Barbara Garnes (of England) Osburn (as per death certificate). No evidence discovered where parents are buried. Probably in Ohio but Iowa is also a possibility.
UPDATE 4-23-2017: Recently discovered info now leads me to believe that Henry's mother's name was Rebecca Gardner.

Henry Thompson Osburn passed away Saturday evening at 10:10 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Minnie Dearborn, 2720 Fair Avenue.

The deceased was born April 23, 1833, in Chillicothe, Ross county, O., and was at the time of his death, 78 years of age. He received his early education in private schools in Ohio. In 1853 he came to Buffalo, Ia., and then to Muscatine county where he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Ann Fridley in 1855. They resided in Muscatine until 1882, when they removed to Buffalo, Ia., and then to DeWitt, Ia., in 1886, where they made their home until 1901 when Mrs Osburn passed away on May 31. Mr. Osburn then came to Davenport, and had since made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Dearborn.

Those who survive to mourn his death are four daughters, Mrs. M. Dearborn and Mrs. A. Shippy, both of Davenport, Mrs. M. Kosnopfal of DeWitt and Mrs. J. Willoughby of Des Moines, and one brother, [*] James H. Osburn of Fowler, Ill. The body will be sent Tuesday morning to DeWitt, Ia., where interment will be made.
