Duane Staley, age 77 of Spokane died and went to Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 22, 2021. Duane was born on August 21, 1944 in Spokane, Washington to Ray and Ernestine Staley. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School, served in the United States Air Force, retired from Columbia Lighting, and enjoyed being a school bus driver for a couple years.

Duane married Carolyn in 2003. Duane enjoyed electric trains, reading, doing puzzles, westerns, and loved being with his grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and for his sweet smile.

Duane is survived by his wife Carolyn of Spokane; her two children Troy and Saranne, and her husband Mark; his granddaughters Juliet and Violet of Spokane; son Ed of Spokane, son Bill and wife Holly and grandson Carson of Spokane; his brother Walt of Spokane, his brother Len and his wife Bev of Vancouver, Washington; his sister Joanne and husband John of Boise, Idaho, and numerous nephews and nieces. Duane will always be in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ernestine, his father Ray, and his first wife Pamela.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am with a visitation from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home located at 5100 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA 99205. A gravesite will follow at 1:45pm at the Washington State Veteran's Cemetery 21702 W Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA 99205.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the VA Hospital, VA Community Living Center, and Hospice Care for their loving care of Duane.
