Mildred Abrams, 75, Newell Native
Chester - A Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated Tuesday for Mrs. Mildred Abrams, 75, of Indiana Avenue, who died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 30, 1990, at Zanesville, Ohio, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Newell Feb. 23, 1915, a daughter of the late Michael Derda and Anna Lopata Derda. A former employee at Waterford Park, Mrs. Abrams had been a ticket taker at the old State and Columbia theaters in East Liverpool. She graduated from Newell High School in 1933. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild, and formerly taught Confraternity of Christian Diocese classes. Her husband, Thomas Abrams, whom she married March 13, 1942, died March 19, 1953. She is survived by a son, Mike Abrams of Chester, and a brother, Stanley Derda of Newell. The Rev. Charles Savage is to be celebrant of the Mass at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial is to be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Arner Funeral Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Rosary is to be recited at 7:30 p.m.
