According to her son's obituary she was known for having an amiable and affectionate disposition. Regarded as a very pretty young woman. Mary Elizabeth Graves was the daughter of Dr. Calvin Elijah & Caroline Foust Graves. She became the first wife of George Bain Everitt after they met while he was in college in Trinity, NC. They got married in Randolph County, NC on Dec 23, 1875 and began their life in Winston Salem, Forsyth County, N.C. while he worked as an attorney. They had two children. She died in her early 30's while their children were very young.
