Dorothy was the daughter of Albert Jackson and Rosa Lee Middlebrooks Jackson. She was educated in the Houston County School System and was a graduate of the Houston County Training High School in Perry, Georgia. She was a member of Sandbed Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia where she sang in the Senior Choir and served on the Deaconess Board.
She was married to Wilson Lee Robinson on February 26, 1966.

3 Daughters: Janice Denise Stanford, Dr Tonya Alisa Robinson and Dr Cheryl Lynn Gaddis.
2 Sisters: Thelma Murphy(Clarence) and Rosa Henry(Clarence).

Graveside services were held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11AM in the Sandbed Baptist Church Cemetery in Kathleen, Georgia with Rev Floyd Clarington officiating.
