Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Judith Spidell Malm Gossett, fell into God's arms September 27, 2021. Judi was born in Rupert and grew up in Mountain Home. She graduated from Mountain Home High School and married Clinton Malm in 1959. They were raising 4 young children together when Judi suddenly became a widow. She courageously pulled herself up and navigated the challenges of being a working single parent in the 1970s.
Judi was a probation and parole officer for the State of Idaho, until she retired. She loved her job, and Governor Cecil Andrus awarded her Outstanding Corrections Officer in 1984.
Judi was adventurous, fun, and the unofficial social director at every event. She loved to "see where this road goes." Her grandchildren have many stories of driving with Grandma through creeks that suddenly appeared on a back mountain road.
Despite all the trials life threw at Judi, she remained positive, kind, and willing to help anyone she met along the way. Judi forgave easily and taught us to find humor in tough times. She encouraged and loved us unconditionally. We'll miss her more than words can say.
She leaves behind 3 children, Dana Rowett (Bob), David Malm, and Jennifer Wupper (Bob), 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother, sisters, and 2 step-daughters and their families.
Graveside service for Judi is Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, in Mountain Home.
