261 individuals and 67 wagons were in the Edward Hunter Company when it began its journey on June 29, 1850 from the outfitting post at Kanesville (present day Council Bluffs), Iowa. This church wagon train was organized at 12-mile creek near the Missiouri River. It was the first Perpetual Emigrating Fund Company. It arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on October 13, 1850.
