One of the oldest men in the city and for years one of its respected citizens passed away at the home of John F. Collins, 717 Arden Street, on Saturday forenoon at 9 o'clock. John Bain Sr., was born in County Clare, Ireland, and was over eighty years of age at the time of his death. He had been in poor health for a long time and for more than a year was confined to his room. The deceased came to this country in 1846 and settled in Ohio. There he resided until about ten years ago when he came to this city where he has since resided. To mourn his death are four sons and three daughters. Two sons reside in Ohio and one in Illinois. Another son, John Bain, is the well-known liveryman and citizen, of Boone. Mrs. John F. Collins, at whose home he has been for some time past, is a daughter. Two other daughters reside in the east. The funeral was held Monday forenoon form the Church of the Sacred Heart and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
