MORMON PIONEER OVERLAND TRAIL. Franklin was part of the Utah Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel migration between 1847-1868. About 209 individuals and about 44 wagons were in the Wilford Woodruff Company when it began its journey on June 16, 1850 from the outfitting post at Kanesville (present day Council Bluffs), Iowa. This Church Train arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on October 14, 1850.
