Lewis A. Arbogast, 94, Arrowsmith's oldest male resident, died at 11:45 a. m. Saturday at his home. He had been ill several months and bedfast the past four months.
Mr. Arbogast was born July 10, 1857, in Arrowsmith Township, a son of Enos and Mary Morgan Arbogast.
He married Mary Slingloff on Jan. 16. 1879. She died Feb. 20, 1928.
Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Philip Clifton, Kankakee; three sons. Darwin I. Normal, George H. Arrowsmith and Frank E., Ermington; a foster daughter, Miss Martha Peterson, Arrowsmith, with whom he made his home; one sister. Mrs. Truman Stark. Monrovia. Calif.; 16 grand children; 17 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
A son and four sisters also preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Arrowsmith Methodist Church.
