Ada Gladys was the fourth daughter and ninth child born to 19th century photo lithographer James Akerman, and his first wife Jessie Ellen; she was born at the family home in Bloomsbury on 20th February 1886. Along with her three brothers, she was baptised on 7th September 1887 at the church of St. George the Martyr in Queens Square, Bloomsbury. Little Ada was only seven when she passed away in May of 1893, two years after her mother died. She was laid to rest on the 19th at Norwood Cemetery.
