Weaverville - Lillian S. Davis, of 30 Gill Hall Branch Road, Weaverville, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003.
She was a native of Buncombe County and was a graduate of Fairview High School and Blanton's Business College.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Hampton Souther and Lavada Williams; her husband, Everette Monroe Davis; three brothers, Alonzo, Raymond and Kermit Souther; and four sisters, Ethel Briggs, Ruby Hill, Sophie Briggs and Vassie Burgan.
Mrs. Davis formerly lived in Asheville and came to live in Weaverville in 1968. She was employed as an assistant manager of Weaverville Auto Parts from which she was retired in 1979. She attended church at Alexander United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Ernest Souther and sister, Edith S. Willingham, both of Asheville; her caretaker and very special friend, Elsie Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Service in Asheville with the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family received friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alexander United Methodist Church or Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
