Mansfield, Ark., July 13—Arthur Jones was instantly killed Tuesday about 3 o’clock by the discharge of his own gun. He, with three other boys, went to the mountains for a day’s hunt and while resting with his hand on the muzzle of his gun, the butt resting on a rock, the gun slipped, striking the hammer. The charge passed through his hand, striking his left breast and throat. Death was instantaneous. He will be laid to rest in the Coop Prairie cemetery. He was the only child of S. P. Jones who works in the Mansfield Lumber yard at Fort Smith.
Arthur was a promising boy of about 18 years, and had many friends who will sympathise with his parents in this their sad bereavement.
