LaDonna Walker, 86 of Kearney, formerly of Elm Creek, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at Mount Carmel Home and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Elm Creek United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Elm Creek Cemetery.

She was born December 29, 1930 to Edward and Cecile (Wolfe) Carlson in Cozad, Nebraska. LaDonna was a 1948 graduate of Cozad High School and later earned a teaching degree from Kearney State Teachers College. She taught at a country school North of Cozad, at Alma and at Holdrege.

On June 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert Walker in Holdrege. NE. To this union three sons were born, Mike, Roger and Gary. They farmed North of Alma before moving to a farm near Overton and then Northeast of Lexington. In 1966 they bought the current farm North of Elm Creek. Robert passed away in 2006. LaDonna lived there on the farm until moving to Mt. Carmel Home in 2013.

LaDonna enjoyed spending time with family, working in her garden and attending various coffee clubs and quilting with her friends at the Methodist Church. She cherished her time with family cheering on the Huskers on game day. LaDonna volunteered for numerous functions in the Elm Creek community. She was a longtime member of the Elm Creek United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children and spouses; Mike Walker and wife Jane of Elm Creek, Roger Walker and wife Judy of Kearney and Gary Walker and wife Julie of Kearney; grandchildren Brandon (Stephanie) Walker of Elm Creek, Loren Walker of Elm Creek, Chris (Lauren) Walker of Kearney, Heather Walker of Lincoln, Travis (Morgan) Walker of Denver, CO, and Tyler Walker of Kearney; great grandchildren Colin and Calvin Luna of Omaha, Madison Walker of Kearney, Devon, Preston, and Corbin Walker all of Elm Creek; grandson-in-law Homer Luna of Omaha.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother Lloyd Carlson and a granddaughter Carolyn Walker-Luna.
