My beloved papa. Son of Ruggiero Cristiano, commander of the municipal police of a small town in Apulia and of Natalizia Papeo, daughter of farmers. The eldest of two children, he attended master school, where his passion for literature, history and philosophy was nurtured. At the same time, his passion for science grew, especially for astronomy and physics at the amateur level. In his youth he built his first astronomical telescope, with which he made his first observations as a self-taught amateur astronomer. At the same time, the passion for astronomical photography began to grow in the young Andrea. Equipped with innumerable interests, in the same years he begins to cultivate another great love of his life, music. Together with other young people from the area, he founded the first radio stations in his hometown, while teaching himself to play the piano. During these years he began to play in various groups he founded, acquiring a remarkable ability to play the keyboard and organ. During the years of his musical activity, he plays as a support band in various national and international musical groups, expanding his musical knowledge especially in the field of jazz and blues. A passionate traveler, he begins to tour Europe, at a time when it was not easy, and also travels through the countries of the Iron Curtain. He graduates from the Faculty of Philosophy at the Catholic College of the Sacred Heart in Milan, where he lives for more than a year. Back in his hometown, he meets his future wife Martamaria, the second daughter of two teachers. He goes to the military service and serves in the army at a military base in Sicily. Back home he marries Martamaria and after a year they move to northern Italy, to Fidenza in the province of Parma, Emilia Romagna. They both work in the insurance industry, and in the first years of their marriage they have a son and a daughter. In the late seventies and early eighties he acquired the radio operator's license with the name of the station IW4ASQ. in 1985 they moved to central Italy to be closer to their hometown. They moved to Pescara in Abruzzo, which is why his station name changed to IW6MJO and then again to IK6USN with the acquisition of the special license for radio amateurs, with which he will contact many radio amateurs around the world over the years. Over the years he has not given up his interest in music and has purchased two Hammond organs (L122 and B3). A passionate history buff with a penchant for the history of Germany and Russia, he began a monumental research on the history and genealogy of the Russian tsarist family of the Romanov dynasty in the early 1990s at a time when there was no Internet. He made several trips to Russia, both in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. In 1997, he separated from his wife and began a relationship with another woman, but without abandoning his children. For several years he traveled around Italy for professional reasons. Occasionally he travels around the world again, visiting countries such as Germany, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Estonia, Montenegro, Greece, Turkey, Malta and others before his retirement. Shortly after his retirement, he falls ill with a kidney problem, has to undergo several surgeries and finally has to undergo home dialysis, yet he continues to dream of traveling. Two days before his death, he dreamed of buying a sailboat and traveling the world with his beloved son. He most likely died of cardiac arrest. He leaves behind his beloved partner, his wife, his two children and his beloved grandson, who was born a few days before his death.
