Wife of William Fryer, Sr., Mary and her husband were married in England in about 1820. Their eldest known children, John, George and William, Jr. were born there prior to the family emigrating to America.

They are known to have first settled in Oswego County, New York where several more children were born to them, including Mary, Thomas, Sarah Ann, James, and Charles Hiram.

By 1846 they had moved their family to Wisconsin, where their youngest child, Lucretia, was born. Their family was enumerated in Walworth County on the 1850 and 1860 censuses, but they could not be located there on the 1870 census.

Mary was enumerated at Elkhorn on the 1880 census. She was listed as a widow, residing in the household of her daughter Mrs. Lucretia (Stephen) Lowe.
