Mary Darnall was the wife and cousin of Charles Carroll, of Carrollton. They were married June 5, 1768 and had seven children, only three surviving to adulthood.

Mary Darnall was the daughter of Henry Darnall (1725-1772) and his wife, Rachel Brooke (1725-1781).

Her burial in this cemetery is specified in Ronald Hoffman's book, Princes of Ireland, Planters of Maryland: A Carroll Saga, 1500-1782, page 387.

She has a cenotaph found at the Doughoregan Manor Chapel.
