Arlington, Texas –
Rosina (Rosie) Halpin, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Rosie was a daughter of Andrew and Pauline (Miller) Baumgartner of Atchison, Kansas.
Rosie's future husband, Joseph Gaylor (Joe) Halpin, had joined the Air Force and completed the Aviation Cadet program as a Navigator in March 1952, serving in the Korean War on over 50 combat missions. Lt. Joe Halpin met Rosina Baumgartner during his B-26 training at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. Joe and Rosie were married on Saturday, December 26, 1953, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Atchison, Kansas.
Joe completed his active duty in 1955, and went on to earn a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, two years later.After graduation, Joe was hired by Chance Vought (later called LTV Aerospace, which then became Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in 1996) in Grand Prairie. Rosie became a President of the LTV Engineering Wives Club.

Joe and Rosie moved to Arlington in 1958, and were blessed with five daughters -- Zina, Mary Eileen, Karen, Melanie, and Peggy.

Joe and Rosie joined St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in 1958, and were members for over 50 years. Rosie and Joe also enjoyed participation in the SMG Leisure Club, hosting many social gatherings over the years.

Services: Visitation is on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the church.
Survivors: Husband of 64 years, Joe Halpin; daughters – Zina and Joe Juroch, Mary Eileen and Joe DelPrincipe, Karen Halpin, Melanie and Bob Milone, and Peggy and Rob Faber; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
