Ruth Shipman Cooley, 92, of Greer, originally from Chesnee, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. She was born on February 21, 1929 to the late John Homer and Minnie Mae Shipman. She was the widow of Curtis Walden Cooley whom she was married to for 31 wonderful years. Ruth was a beautician, and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Moore, South Carolina.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Emily Cooley Orr (Everett) of Greer; one sister, Allene Vaughn of Greer; four grandchildren, Hal (Marisa); Wally (Suzanne); Chase (Danielle); and Cody; six great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law Bill Lee. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Roberts Lee; one sister, Betty McAbee; and her first husband James Armond Roberts.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Springhill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Joe Burnett officiating.
